Compared with a cane that can bear 20-30% of the body weight, a Standard Walker can provide higher support and stability, and can bear about 80% of the body weight. Walking aids are suitable for elderly people whose general muscle strength, sense of balance, vision have deteriorated due to aging, or walking ability has deteriorated due to stroke, and walking sticks are no longer enough to support them.

It should be noted that the elderly are usually less aware of the degeneration of physical functions. Most of them fall and get injured and go to the doctor, only to find out that they need to replace the walking aids. If the family members or caregivers find the following changes in the elderly at home, they should be vigilant. The elderly can be taken to the hospital for an examination to assess whether it is necessary to change assistive devices or use a wheelchair to prevent falls:

1. Walking slower and taking longer than usual to get out of the room
2. Often complain of sore feet or tiredness from walking
3. The coordination of limbs becomes poor when walking, and it is easy to turn around when walking
